THURSDAY
THEME: THE LORD WHO REWARDS GOOD DEEDS“
SCRIPTURE:  Galatians 6:9
“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

REFLECTIONS

Every life on earth must have a purpose. Without dispute, God has a clearly defined purpose for everyone that He brings into this world. Though He is determined and willing to help us realize that hope, much depends on us. How willing each person is to subscribe to His instructions and guidance in sync with His purpose is the most critical part of the relationship and His will for us. If God created us, following His instructions (His manual) for life is safe and prudent.
We must remember that whatever we pursue in life will yield results that are not different from the naturally determined outgrowth of what we have initiated. Natural laws require that when you sow soybeans, you should expect to harvest soybeans and not cowpeas. Similarly, any variety of mango you cultivate must yield its kind and not another. This concept is fundamental to how we engage in our daily activities and responsibilities.
Because we are often forgetful in things that matter, Paul reminds us in Galatians 6:7-8, “[7]Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. [8]For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.” This fact of life applies to all aspects of human endeavors. We will reap God’s approbation and good outcomes if we practice godly behavior. We become what we choose to eat or drink. By making wrong choices or planting bad seeds, we experience consequences that make us regret when it is too late. Judgment is about reaping what we have sowed in life.

Giving excuses for our choices and actions will hinder us from achieving our desired expectations. Adopting a healthy lifestyle can delay the onset or reduce the burden of lifestyle diseases. Determining to be disciplined and follow the principles of God will result in divine favor and blessings. You cannot overlook God’s instructions on obedience and expect His blessings of health, peace, success, and prosperity to attend to your efforts constantly. Most importantly, beloved, if you will sow faith and trust in God, you will reap marvelous experiences that will overwhelm you. Follow the instructions of God about life, and you will experience miracles and wonders, satisfaction and joy, and peace and success in your life. Verse 9 entreats, “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” May your good thoughts, well-ordered life, commitment to God, and trust in His word grant you health, serenity, and a sanctified and satisfied life.

MY SONG OF COMMITMENT
“Lead Kindly Light” – J. H. Newman

LET US PRAY

– Praise and thank God for His clearly defined plan for your life; thank God for how far He has led you in life; pray for grace to sow seeds approved by God and reap His favor bountifully;

– Pray for the spirit of submission and obedience to God for members of your family, congregation, and acquaintances; pray for those addicted to drugs, alcohol, smoking, etc., to have the will to quit;

– Pray for our nation to sow righteousness so we can reap the blessings of God; pray for the needy in society, the widows/widowers, unemployed, differently-abled persons, and the aged;

– Pray for the leaders of our nation, peaceful coexistence, a society that pursues justice and equal opportunities for all, healing for the sick, and the spread of the gospel.
