THEME: “GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS”
SCRIPTURE: Lamentations 3:21-23
“[21]This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. [22]Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. [23]They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”
REFLECTIONS
Yesterday, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, we sang and praised God for His power and greatness. To serve an awesome God, full of compassion and mercies, who is our Father, is a lifetime privilege. Today, we shall consider the nature of God’s faithfulness. Every Christian’s comfort, peace, and hope is anchored in God’s faithfulness. Life has taught us that working with a faithful person is safer, motivating, inspiring, exciting, and rewarding. Our God is the embodiment of faithfulness. Anyone faithful is reliable, dependable, cooperative, caring, empathizing, supportive, others-centered, and an abiding companion and friend. God is faithful! His faithfulness is par excellence! Because of His faithfulness, the future is so bright and hopeful for every Christ-imitating child of God.
The constancy of His power is saturated with His faithfulness – He is ever ready to release His power for the good of His children. His faithfulness is your reward for trusting Him. Now, by His faithfulness, He addresses you directly in Isaiah 49:15-16 – [15]“Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. [16]See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.“ Absolutely incredible. Do you and I have our names written in the palm of His hand? Wonderful! No wonder He is called Wonderful, Merciful, Redeemer, and Friend. One of the most beautiful songs composed by humans to describe God’s unparalleled faithfulness is Thomas Obediah Chisholm’s “Great is Thy Faithfulness.”
Let us meditate and sing of God’s trustworthiness, an all-time favorite and testimony of Christians.
“Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father, There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not; As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.”
Refrain:
“Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see; All I have needed Thy hand hath provided, Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!”
“Summer and winter and springtime and harvest, Sun, moon and stars in their courses above, Join with all nature in manifold witness To Thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love.”
“Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth, Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, Blessings all mine with ten thousand beside.”
As you meditate on and sing of His faithfulness, Isaiah draws our attention to who God is. Isaiah 46:9 instructs, “Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me.” His faithfulness is your trump card for victory.

LET US PRAY
– Praise and thank God for His unwavering faithfulness; thank God for revealing to you the benefits of His faithfulness; pray to trust God due to His mercies and great faithfulness;
– Pray for believers who doubt God’s care, fear for the future, and full of anxiety; pray for healing mercies for the sick, patients on admission, and those with chronic and terminal ill-health;
– Pray that even in war, the faithfulness of God will accompany those who seek Him; pray for the economic challenges that face God’s children to abate; pray for someone you care for;
– Pray for peace, unity, prosperity, truthfulness, and faithfulness in our country; pray for Christians to learn of Christ and be faithful even in small things.
