Nkrumah Tema City: Full Of Manholes-Tema Central NDC Communication Bureau

Date:

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Tema Central Constituency Communications Bureau, has expressed disappointment in the government and  authorities in charge of Tema, for watching unconcerned to allow potholes to develop into manholes, making the City an ordinary one.

The NDC Communications Bureau, however chastised the authorities for denying Tema, a City built by Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah with Development.

Addressing the media after a tour to some deplorable areas in Tema including road networks leading to Tema Oil refinery, Mr. Kingsley Ackah-Koufie, Communications Officer for Tema Central NDC pointed out that, the state of Kwame Nkrumah Tema City currently is in shambles under the leadership of President Akufo Addo and Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.
The NPP Government, he stated, has intentionally denied Tema with so many developmental activities, forgetting that chunk of the government’s revenue are generated from the port and other enterprises.

Mr. Kingsley Ackah indicated that, per what is happening at the moment in Tema, is a clear indication that the NPP government does not think about the interest of the people saying, the very traffic light that serves Community 4 and 5 have been off for the past 4 years and authorities are still looking unconcerned.

“The people voted for leaders to come and do basic things for them, and they are failing to do”. He therefore, called on President Akufo Addo and Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia including the authorities of Tema, to pay much attention to the traffic light situation and bad road networks to enable people in the City also enjoy life.

Ghana, he mentioned under the NPP administration, can no longer refine crude oil unless the government takes it outside the country.
Another issue that came out during the tour, has to do with the way and manner big trucks unnecessarily parked on the road side to slow down traffic, making it difficult for other vehicles to park when there is an emergency.
It emerged that, because of sabotage to a filling station owner, a whole road that links community 9 from the main road in front of Rev. Obinim Church has been blocked, denying easy access to drivers and the filling station itself.

The people in the Community therefore, have vowed to vote for President Mahama and the Parliamentary Candidate in the Constituency so that, they can have access to free movement.
