WEDNESDAY

THEME: WHAT A GREAT GOD WE HAVE!

SCRIPTURE: Jeremiah 32:19
“You are great in counsel and mighty in work, for Your eyes are open to all the ways of the sons of men, to give everyone according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings.”

REFLECTIONS

Throughout history, God alone has been known for changing impossibilities into possibilities. He is the God of all knowledge and skills. The Sovereign God who determines times and seasons sets up kings and dethrones them, makes and unmakes the proud. In Him, the redeemed rejoice, for they know they have the love and peace of God, which is exclusively available to those who choose to have it. He remains the only one who can calm the boisterous sea, destructive typhoons, and devastating tsunamis in both the physical and spiritual realms.

Every faithful person has experienced the power of God in manifold ways. We can never exhaust our praises to Him in acknowledgment of His majesty.  Settle in your mind that there is nothing too hard for God to do for you.  Jeremiah prayed and professed: ‘Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.” Jeremiah 32:17. This is the truth. Nothing whatsoever is hard for God to do.  After all, He paved a way right in the middle of the sea for Israel to pass through; provided water from the rock in the wilderness for the thirsty and weary; instructed a raven to feed Elijah two times a day during the famine; healed the sick and added years to their ages; brought the dead back to life; and made humans rise higher against gravitational force to go to heaven. Whom can you compare this God of ours with?

Though you have prayed for so long, seemingly without an answer, you ask, but you do not get answers; the way your life has gone despite your efforts and commitment to God is worrying; you seem not to understand what God is doing in your life and even question if He is there; and life has become a burden to you such that you do not doubt God’s power, but you do not fully believe your situation can change. Beloved, your life is what God will transform to glorify Himself. Rest assured that your solution lies in your faith in Him. If you call on God, though it may tarry and linger unduly, God is never late to any appointment. The scripture says in Jeremiah 32:27 – “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?” Believe His word and remain calm and stress-free.

Jeremiah Chapter 32 tells how God will allow His people to be defeated because of their shortcomings by their enemies but promises to bring them back.  Jeremiah witnessed so much of God’s power that he acknowledged saying: “You are great in counsel and mighty in work, for Your eyes are open to all the ways of the sons of men, to give everyone according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings.” – verse 19. Beloved, trust the Lord, wait on Him, and do not doubt His unique interest in you. After all, He created you; He will care for you.

MY SONG OF COMMITMENT
SDAH 100 – “Great is Thy Faithfulness”

LET US PRAY

– Praise and thank God for His interest in your life; thank God for how far He has brought you; pray to remain faithful to Him;

– Pray for God to bless your family, neighbors, acquaintances, and church members; pray for those in distress; pray for orphans, widows and widowers; pray for the sick;

– Pray for war and disaster victims; pray for youth who are engaged in vice to come to Christ; pray for evangelistic efforts to bring the wayward to Christ;

– Pray for peace and prosperity of the nation; pray for respect for leaders and one another; pray for the life of Christ to influence us; pray for those who have put their burdens before God.
