FRIDAY

THEME: THERE IS NO OTHER NAME, ONLY THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST

SCRIPTURE: Acts 4:12
“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

REFLECTIONS

Indeed, in this life, there is only one name that is a life-giver, game-changer, and redemptive –  a name that transforms the wicked into a saint, sinner into righteousness, makes the sad smile, the weary restful, the sick healed, the despondent hopeful, the deprived receive the fullness of life, and the lonely become a multitude.

Let us consider seriously our salvation and the journey of our redemption. Our salvation is costly and valuable. It is centered on a Person—the Lord Jesus Christ. He is our Creator, God, Redeemer, and coming King and Bridegroom (John 1:1-4, 12, 14, 29; 14:1-3,6). We need to settle in our minds that we want something better and most precious in life, and this is found only in Jesus Christ, who gives life abundantly (John 10:10; 3:16). In Him is the fullness of God, and all things consist in Him (Colossians 1:14-17). He is our savior and will save us from our sins and restore the image of God in us (Matthew 1:21,23).

The apostles were undoubtedly convinced that Jesus Christ was their redeemer and life-giver. Therefore, Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, proclaimed boldly before the Sanhedrin, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

There are many people, but there is one Person. There are many names, but one Name, Jesus Christ. His name carries omniscience, power, abundant grace, and redemption. There are many leaders, but there is One Leader and Captain; many lords, but only one who is Lord of lords; there are many kings,  but only one is enduring, immortal,  and soon-coming King and Saviour. Franklin Edson Belden composed his song: “There’s no Other Name Like Jesus,” based on Acts 4:12. Let’s meditate and sing this inspiring Hymn.

1 “There’s no other name like Jesus, ‘Tis the dearest name we know,
‘Tis the angels’ joy in heaven, ‘Tis the Christian’s joy below.”

Refrain:
“Sweet name, dear name, There’s no other name like Jesus;
Sweet name, dear name, There’s no other name like Jesus.”

2 “There’s no other name like Jesus When the heart with grief is sad,
There’s no other name like Jesus When the heart is free and glad.”

3 “’Tis the hope that I shall see Him, When in glory He appears,
‘Tis the hope to hear His welcome, That my fainting spirit cheers.”

4 “If He wills that I should labor In His vineyard day by day,
Then ’tis well if only Jesus’ Blesses all I do or say.”

5 “If He wills that death’s cold finger Touch my feeble, mortal clay,
Then ’tis well if only Jesus Is my dying trust and stay.”

MY SONG OF COMMITMENT
SDAH 253 – “There’s No Other Name Like Jesus”

LET US PRAY

– Praise and thank God for His saving grace; thank Jesus for giving you hope in this life; pray to trust Him, walk with Him, and share Him with others;

– Pray for individuals and people groups who have not known Jesus Christ; pray for the gospel to reach unentered areas so they can have salvation through Jesus;

– Pray for ministers, Bible Teachers, young missionaries, missionary families; pray for Christians who share their encounter with Jesus with other people; pray for elders and officers in the local church;

– Pray for our nation to trust and obey the Lord Jesus; pray for those waiting on Jesus for redemption, healing, and inner peace.

He noted that the objectives behind organising the games had consistently been achieved over the years, adding that LCB Worldwide Ghana remained committed to expanding the initiative to attract more corporate organisations. “We are hoping that in the next few years, the participating companies will be more. We are hoping to bring companies from other industries. We are expecting the financial institutions, oil and gas companies and even the educational sector as well,” he said. Mr. Aboagye further disclosed that the competition was fully sponsored by LCB Worldwide Ghana, expressing optimism that the company would continue to mobilise resources to sustain and increase the prize money in subsequent editions. Promoting Corporate Unity Through Sports  The LCB Worldwide Corporate Games was initiated to foster camaraderie, strengthen professional relationships and promote bonds of friendship among companies, particularly those operating within the ports and shipping industry. Beyond sports, LCB Worldwide Ghana has also established a strong presence through its corporate social responsibility initiatives. The crisis management company has been operating in Ghana since 2017 and has been contracted by the Government of Ghana, through the Ministry of Health, to undertake fumigation and disinfection of cargo at the country's ports and designated points of entry and exit. As part of its commitment to public health and community development, the company has undertaken fumigation exercises at markets, hospitals, senior high schools and tertiary educational institutions across the country. The successful organisation of the fifth edition of the LCB Corporate Games further underscores the company's commitment to using sports as a platform to promote teamwork, corporate engagement and stronger relationships among businesses in Ghana.
