THEME: PROMISE #23 – LIFE-GIVING LOVINGKINDNESS

SCRIPTURE: Psalms 63:3
“Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You.”

REFLECTIONS

God’s lovingkindness is evident and experienced all around us every day. It offers hope to humanity as it reveals God’s constancy and intended plans for us. When humans rely on Him, they can fully enjoy life because all of life’s blessings are found in Him. How can one bypass God, the living fountain of life, and attain true life? His lovingkindness will navigate you through challenges with a zest for living.

As we meditate on Promise #23, drawn from Psalms 63:3,7, we must remember that the assurance of God’s lovingkindness provides us the strength to confront the challenges of each day. In the Wilderness of Judah, David trusted God’s word and experienced Him as his helper. He acknowledged God’s favor toward him and expressed his encounters with God’s lovingkindness in Psalms 63:1: “O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.” David celebrated God’s everlasting lovingkindness because he experienced and understood it.
Verses 3 and 7 highlight: “[3] Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You. [7] Because You have been my help, Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.” There is fulfillment in communion with God and in praising Him. The psalmist makes it clear that life stems from His lovingkindness. Thus, he valued God’s lovingkindness above even the very essence of life. It also suggests that the assurance of God’s love and kindness instills courage, strength, and boldness to confront daunting threats and the most challenging situations. We can confidently affirm that God has been and will continue to be our Helper, thanks to His lovingkindness.
Beloved, when hope is diminished and daily struggles seem insurmountable, God’s lovingkindness is your unyielding life support that keeps you steady, calm, patient, and persevering. It provides you with the strength to stand firm and overcome every adversity. His lovingkindness is everlasting and never waning—reliable and unfailing. It grants you the blessing of protection and security, allowing you to seek refuge in the shadows of His wings and rejoice.
