THEME: HOW GOD FIGHTS FOR HIS OWN
SCRIPTURE: Exodus 23:27
“I will send My fear before you, I will cause confusion among all the people to whom you come, and will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.”

REFLECTIONS

God does not intend for any of His followers to be defeated. Defeat only happens by choice. If some people decide to go their own way, apart from God, they lose the divine support that could make them invincible. So, the choice is always ours: to win or to lose the battle of life. However, for those who trust Him, He fights your enemies directly and confuses them. He never fails to fulfill the promise: “The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” Whatever challenge you have is the enemy that God will help you to defeat.

From creation, God has been known as humanity’s helper and hope. When people rebel, they lose the chance for God to defend them. He knows how to redeem His people and restore them comfortably. Every stage of human life centered on Him receives immense blessings and goodwill. God is a planner and has everything well-structured for execution, provided those who need His help recognize the privilege. We only need to trust Him to do what is best for us, and we will surely find peace. We fret because of uncertainties, yet God is immutable, and what He says, He will surely do.
His leadership in the exodus should always inspire our trust in Him. The journey from Egypt to Canaan clearly demonstrates God’s desire to lead us in our personal lives, provided we appreciate His favor. He knows what’s ahead and prepares a safe path for us before we reach the crossroads. We find this reassurance in Exodus 23:27 – “I will send My fear before you, I will cause confusion among all the people to whom you come, and will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.” This is His promise. He continues in verse 28, “And I will send hornets before you, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite from before you.” Who are your Hivites, Canaanites, and Hittites?
If we are sincere, we will realize that God allows us to go through difficult and desperate situations, but He remains with us. In the end, when His purpose for us is fulfilled, we emerge refined, improved, and valuable. He will surely keep us in peace through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who comforted us in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” You only truly understand peace after experiencing chaos and confusion.
