THEME: GOD’S EVERGREEN PROMISE: “CALL UPON ME”
SCRIPTURE: Psalms 50:15
“Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”

REFLECTIONS

The promises of God are everlasting. They are sure and faithful. Who else besides God has the love, credibility, track record, ability, and power to deliver on their promises? For every child of God, Psalms 50:15: “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me,”  is one of the most precious promissory notes you can obtain from the universe’s Sovereign.  It was valid in David’s time, the apostles’ time, and our times and will remain so until Christ comes. The blessedness of God provides an avenue of rescue for all His people.
God’s promises provide us with motivation, energy, confidence, boldness, unwavering determination, perseverance, endurance, and faith to attain our goals. Every promise of God is a seed that is sown, germinates, thrives, and bears fruit. But for Christians, the promises are God’s expressions of His intentions, desire, and decision to be present with us and help us in all our affairs. God has a promise to cheer us up for every situation we face.
This divine invitation and exhortation reassure us to cast our burdens on Him and not carry an unnecessary load under undue pressure. You cannot expect help in times of trouble if you do not call upon God. But He is faithful to His promise, so those who heed the invitation will benefit. The Lord does not wait for us to fall into trouble before He counsels us; He does it way before any calamity. Do you have woes, struggles, trials, and anxieties? Call on God – send Him an SOS, dial His emergency line for a prompt intervention.

As you face indecision, challenging situations, and discrimination due to your commitment to God, and you are exposed to the enemy’s tests, call upon God. He will answer and deliver you, and you will be honored to glorify His name. Beloved, any situation that makes you uncomfortable, worried, downcast, and confused is a trouble that should be laid before His Majesty our Lord. As you go about your activities today, remember that help has been offered and is available in God for those who call upon Him. Do not struggle and suffer alone when your heavenly Father has provided you a way out. Jesus, with His outstretched arms, entreats you, “Call upon Me.”

MY SONG OF COMMITMENT
SDAH 498 – “Still, Still With Thee” – The King’s Heralds.

LET US PRAY

– Praise and thank God for His promises for every season and time; pray to stay close to Him by calling;

– Pray for family members who are challenged, friends and well-wishers struggling, and troubled acquaintances;

– Pray for displaced people, carers of people living with disability, differently-abled persons, and special favor on families who care for people with autism;

–  Pray for individuals who have endured calamities, children who have been abused, families who have lost their values, and those who struggle with bread-and-butter issues; pray for the word of God to impact lives.
