TUESDAY

THEME: “GOD WILL PERFECT YOUR LIFE”

SCRIPTURE: Psalms 138:8
“The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.”

REFLECTIONS

Anyone with solid backing from the powerful is confident. All prudent initiators would assess their capability before they embark on a serious endeavor because they envisage success. For the Christian, the strength to advance, endure, and attain comes from God. For this reason, whatever promises God has given carry weight and meaning. None is to be underestimated. For those who have walked with God, their testimonies result from God’s unfailing promises. This is why, in Psalm 138, David praises God for the truth of His word.

Every Christian will have a testimony to bear because our lives exist and find expression in God’s promises on our behalf. The psalmist said: “The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.”- Psalm 138:8. Heartwarming.  God will perfect that which concerns you. We are also reminded of Paul’s assertion in Philippians 1:6, “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;” The Message Bible reads, “finish what you started in me.” God’s work of perfecting our characters to fit heaven is ongoing and will find fulfillment in earnest. The righteous will grow in grace and become more like Jesus Christ. He will surely finish what He has started with you.

God will perfect that which concerns you because He desires to save you and give you a place in His kingdom. Every aspect of our experiences while we remain in God is used to achieve one objective – to be like Jesus. Paul stated in 2 Corinthians 3:18, “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” By His grace, He will perfect, complete, and fulfill His will in us.  When David ran away from Saul and hid in a cave, He encouraged himself, saying, “I will cry out to God Most High, To God who performs all things for me.” Psalms 57:2. God will perform all things for you. What He has begun, He will complete it. To trust God is the key to having all His promises fulfilled in you – Trust Him!

As God fulfills His desire to establish you in Him, you are assured of His protection, provisions, guidance, and leading (Psalm 34:7,10; 32:8; Proverbs 3:6). Isaiah 59:19 declares: “. . . When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.” The Lord be your guide, strength, and companion this day. Amen!
