The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has issued a strong warning to the public, particularly job seekers, to beware of ongoing fraudulent recruitment schemes circulating on social media. According to a statement signed by Assistant Commissioner of Immigration M. Amoako-Atta, Head of Public Affairs, the Service is not conducting any recruitment exercise at this time.
Management emphasized that any advertisements or announcements about recruitment via social media are false and unauthorized. The GIS has not sanctioned any individual or group to carry out such activities on its behalf, whether under the guise of special protocol or general recruitment.
The public is strongly cautioned against paying money through mobile money or any other means to persons claiming to be recruitment agents. These individuals are fraudsters preying on the desperation of innocent job seekers.
The Service reiterated that any official recruitment will be announced through the national dailies and not through social media platforms.
GIS urges anyone approached with job offers in exchange for payment to report such individuals to the nearest GIS office or the Police for immediate action.
