Affumkrom chief appeals for funds to build school for community

Date:

The Chief of Affumkrom, Barima Affum Okyere I, has made a heartfelt appeal for support from corporate Ghana and philanthropists to help establish a much-needed school for the community.
This initiative is particularly crucial for the local children, who currently face the daunting challenge of walking three kilometers along a dusty road just to access education.
The lack of a nearby school not only hinders their academic progress but also poses significant risks to their health and safety.
During the inaugural Affumkrom Ohum festival, which marked his two-and-a-half-year tenure as chief, Barima Okyere passionately urged the residents of Affumkrom to come together and contribute to the establishment of a school.
He emphasized the importance of education in empowering the youth and fostering a brighter future for the community. Read Also: Mills Heritage Unveils 14th Anniversary Commemoration Programme
In his address, he highlighted that community elders have already taken proactive steps by designating land for both a school and a clinic, demonstrating a commitment to improving the living conditions in Affumkrom.
Barima Okyere also raised concerns about the community’s access to healthcare, noting that the nearest clinic operates only until 4 pm. This limitation means that any medical emergencies occurring after that time necessitate a long and potentially dangerous journey to Nsawam or Amasaman for treatment.
“Our community is rich in natural resources, yet we find ourselves lacking essential services that are vital for our well-being,” he stated.
“We are appealing to non-governmental organizations, compassionate individuals, and corporate entities for assistance in building these critical facilities.”
The chief’s call to action underscores the urgent need for collaboration and support to enhance the quality of life in Affumkrom. By coming together to build a school and a clinic, the community can ensure that its children receive a proper education and that residents have access to necessary healthcare services. http://dailydemocratnewsonline.com
Barima Okyere’s vision for a better future for Affumkrom is one that resonates deeply, and he hopes that with the help of generous donors and organizations, this vision can become a reality.
Barima Okyere called on the youth to comport themselves during the December 7 elections to avoid engaging in violence.
The head of the Amantomiesai, Okyogyaman Osaberima Apagya Ofori (IV) praised the Affumkrom chief for developing the town in a short time and called on all the people in the town to rally behind him to be able to develop the town.
The chairman for the occasion, Naaba Ramia, who also doubles as the Moshie Yadga chief of Greater Accra called on all the youth not to avail themselves to be used as instrument of violence in the December elections.
