SABBATH
THEME: IT IS A COMMA, NOT A FULL STOP OR A PERIOD! – PART II”
SCRIPTURE: 1 Chronicles 29:11
“Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, And You are exalted as head over all.”
REFLECTIONS
Until God is done with you, life is not complete. Until life reaches its peak, any issue that comes your way serves to deepen your experience, enhance opportunities, or cause a review of your modus operandi. If you can ascribe glory and power to God daily, you will get to know Him and have peace of mind even amid the storm. Recognise that in times of tranquillity or trouble, God is present. Therefore, His promises are yours to claim to keep you through every hurdle on the way. One solemn realisation and admission that you should carry with you is that God is the Ancient of days, and His love for you never wanes or fails. You are the apple of His eye – Psalm 17:8; Zechariah 2:8.
To make your journey in life promising and worth living, you must uphold certain facts and truths. Today, we will look at three of them – these will give you a sound mind and stability as you brave through life’s challenges and struggles. Your first guide is in Isaiah 55:8-9 – [8]“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. [9]“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” If so, then seek His leading – do not trust your understanding but acknowledge God (Proverbs 3:5,6).
Your second guide is in Romans 8:28 – “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Acknowledge that life is an experience you gain therefore, when the good and the bad blend, you get better and seasoned. The truth of this text is that God can turn negative experiences into a richer fulfilment of His plans for your life. If Joseph had not been sold, tempted, and put in prison, he may not have become the second in command of a nation like Egypt at the time. His ups and downs blended and set him up for a position that enabled him to save the lives of millions of people including his family.
Your third guide is Psalms 46:1-3,7,10, “[1]God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. [2]Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; [3]Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah [7]The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah [10]Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” Whoever is challenged, troubled, or perplexed, it is time to look up and trust God who is your refuge, strength, and ever-abiding present Helper. Fear does not win a battle or contest, but courage acting through confidence does. Your life has reached a comma, it is not a full stop or period yet. Keep writing your life’s story with the help of the Holy Spirit. God richly bless you.
