The 6th edition of Miss Health Ghana 2024 has been officially launched in Accra under the theme “Health Through Innovation for a Healthier and Sustainable Future.”
In her address, Madam Gladys Akyere Rockson, Executive Director of Miss Health Ghana emphasized that the pageant marks a new era where technological advancements and innovation are pivotal drivers of improved health service delivery.
“This is a time when global attention on human health has never been greater. A time when all health professionals harness innovations to prioritize access to treatment and facilitate more effective healthcare. This theme is not just a call to action for today, but a promise to the generations that follow—a future where our great-grandchildren thrive in good health and vitality,” she stated.
Gladys Akyere Rockson highlighted the importance of fostering innovation and promoting sustainable health practices to combat global health challenges such as cancer and organ failure, which continue to affect young lives. “We must leverage our collective talents to make the world a better place,” she added.
Miss Health Ghana, she noted, has always been more than just a beauty pageant. Over the past six years, it has impacted thousands of lives through more than 80 health projects and initiatives, serving as a platform designed to empower young women.
Gladys Akyere mentioned that, through a rigorous selection process and comprehensive training, Miss Health Ghana seeks to identify and nurture talent within the health sector. “In the past, our Queens have successfully implemented health projects that have made a difference in the lives of countless people. From organizing health campaigns across Ghana to contributing to workshops, their dedication and passion have inspired many to prioritize their health and wellness,” she explained.
Looking ahead, Gladys Akyere Rockson announced that they are committed to expanding their reach and deepening their impact saying, this year and in the years to come, there will be a greater emphasis on community-based initiatives, such as health talks and medical screenings in schools and rural communities, aimed at improving the lives of the less privileged.
The Miss Health Ghana contestants will also contribute to a green campaign tour across various tertiary institutions from September to November 2024. In addition, the contestants will be tasked with developing innovative approaches in weekly episodes, guided by mentorship from Doctors in Business Global. The pageant will also partner with SOLOTECH for their annual breast cancer awareness campaign and with Marriott Hotel for the Green Week initiative, set to run from October 30th to November 2nd, 2024.
Eligibility for Miss Health Ghana includes health students and health workers aged 18 to 30 years who are unmarried. Auditions will be held at the Marriott Hotel on September 22nd, where 20 selected candidates will compete, with only 10 advancing to the grand finals.
The grand finals are scheduled for November at Marriott Hotel. Contestants are encouraged to embrace this opportunity to make a lasting difference, using the power of innovation and their unique talents to become agents of change and inspire others to live healthier lives.
