WATERMELON FARMERS IN NORTH EAST REGION Disappointed in NPP

Date:

The the deputy communication officer of NDC in the north east region, ABDULAI MALIK DAYAN has revealed that watermelon farmers in the region are highly disappointed in the ruling government as their produce produce have not been patronized by their business counterpart in the southern part of the country.
Their ultimate hope of cultivating watermelon was the promised of a factory by the government in walewale in the west mamprusi municipality.
The watermelon factory has since not been completed for almost 7years, an intervention they stressed is needed to address their challenges. According to the farmers, they promised it to be the sole partner (buyer) of watermelon in the entire north east region and beyond.
The farmers have concluded that, the said watermelon factory was a complete scam only used to deceive them for votes and not to add any economic value to the lives.

The farmers are not happy with Dr mahamodu BAWUMIA an indigen who ought to have represented the interest of watermelon farmers in this current government.
They are however appealing to the National Democratic Congress to make it a priority when they assumed the Governance of the country next year.
