“SPIRIT POSSESSION” ART WALK AND PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION CELEBRATES 10th JUNE AT OCCCA IN SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA
Santa Ana, California – The Orange County Center for Contemporary Art (OCCCA) is proud to present “Spirit Possession,” a month-long art walk and photographic exhibition, as part of the Juneteenth Celebration. The exhibition will run from June 1st to June 29th, 2024.
The opening reception, held on Saturday, June 1st from 6-10 pm, drew a crowd of approximately 650 people. The exhibition celebrates Ghanaian faces, African culture, and heritage, featuring themes from ancient historic monuments to ecotourism.
Thomas Appleton Lamb and Thomas Fynn, who have collaborated for over thirty years, showcase their work in this exhibition. Their partnership began in 1990 when they were commissioned by USAID to conduct a foundational photographic survey for the establishment of Kakum National Park in Cape Coast as a tourist site.

Begun by artists in 1980 with exhibitions free to the public, OCCCA, the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art, is a 501(c) 3 non-profit, all-volunteer, artist-run gallery located in the heart of the Santa Ana Artists Village. OCCCA presents exhibitions of contemporary art, along with concerts, performances, art classes, symposiums, and publications.
