THEME: “GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU”
SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 46:4
“Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs, I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you.”
REFLECTIONS
Yesterday, we meditated on and sang the song: “Does Jesus Care?” We agreed with the composer that Jesus does care and does so with empathy, compassion, and generosity. Today, we affirm our faith by meditating on and singing another inspiring hymn: “God Will Take Care of You.” When everything around you looks bizarre, weird, disappointing, murky, and unacceptable, your health deteriorates, you come to your wit’s end, and there seems not to be a visible way God will take care of you.
In Jonah’s experience (Jonah 1:17; 2:10), God demonstrated that His command remains efficacious and effectual even under the sea and in the belly of the “whale.” Even if thick, dark clouds cover you, God will take care of you. Civilla Durfee Martin, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and on her sickbed, composed this incredibly melodious, mood-changing, and situation-transforming hymn. Her words are heartwarming, persuasive, and reassuring. The constant factor is that God will take care of us. So her song of hope and an expression of God’s caring love is below: “God Will Take Care of You.”

We have the confidence that no matter what the test may be or how close we are to death, the Lord will take care of us. His angels will encamp around us (Psalm 34:7). The Message Bible renders the text for our meditation today as “And I’ll keep on carrying you when you’re old. I’ll be there, bearing you when you’re old and gray. I’ve done it and will keep on doing it, carrying you on my back, saving you.” Beloved, in every situation, be assured that God is willing, has the power, and is known for His faithfulness to take care of you. You are safe!

LET US PRAY
– Praise and thank God for His abundant promises for every situation; thank God that He carries you and takes care of you daily; pray to trust Him, wait, and hope in His mercies;
– Pray for families and individuals who face ejection from their rented places; pray for your family and church members with spiritual challenges; pray for differently-abled persons;
– Pray for those whose businesses are suffering due to the economic crisis we are in; pray for people, especially Christians, to trust God in these difficult times, which He already prophesied;
– Pray for the peace and well-being of your family, friends, business partners, associates, Church members, neighbors, and well-wishers – God will take care of them.
