Christian Group Calls On Chief Imam

Date:

Mr. Fiifi Amoako, the Convener of Missionary friends group, as part of their effort to promote peace in the country especially before, during and after the 2024 general elections, has organised a programme “ONIPA Y3 ADEPA A OSE AY3YI” and called for a nationwide declaration of peace month in every year to honour the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, for his immense contribution towards ensuring peace in the country.

The Group called on Chief Imam at his residence, New Fadama in Accra to express their gratitude to him for his unflinching advocacy in finding a lasting peace that will stand the test of time in the country especially in this troubling times where neighboring countries are plunged into instability.

The group which comprises Baptist, Presbyterian, Assemblies of God and others, maintain the view prior to 2024 which happens to be an election year, it has become prudent to call on the Chief Imam who is widely hailed to be a peace monument without truncating constant encouragement to continue with his good works as been an astute peace ambassador.

Speaking on behalf of the Christian friends, Mr. Fiifi Amoako pointed out that, it is essential for the State to set aside a month of peace on which, all politicians belonging to the two different parties, would call upon themselves especially, the Communication Directors of the two major parties, including ruling and former President of state to a scheduled date to wine and dine together symbolizing that, politics after all is a battle of ideas and means to a fulfilling destiny not a bait for harnessing hate and destruction among varying political class.

Mr. Amoako ,therefore, called for peace especially at this crucial year as the state prepares to conduct periodic general elections to elect President and Members of Parliament.

He described the Chief Imam as a man of peace, a man of simplicity, and a man of humility. He further assured of their commitment to collaborate with the Chief Imam to undertake critical and and comprehensive projects for the benefit of mother Ghana. He has indeed done a lot towards peace. He is a man who has put this into practice. He doesn’t only preach peace, but he puts it into practice”. Mr Amoako postulated.

Mr. Amoako, however, appealed to both Christians and Muslims to come out with a stronger voice calling for peace, especially as the nation prepared for this year’s general elections.

The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu on his part, expressed appreciations to the Christian group for the honor done him, and unequivocally assured all and sundry to work hand in hand with the people gathered to ensure total peace in Ghana.

The Chief Imam disclosed that, Allah created mankind in diversity, to be able to recognize one another and be able to support themselves hence, the need to live in peace with one another without fighting.

He again underscores that , if all human beings would obey Allah’s command, there would be peace at time. Adding that, our diversity doesn’t mean we cannot live together.

The Spokesperson for Chief Imam, Sheikh Armiyaw Shiabu, also commended the Christian group for having time to pay courtesy call on the National Chief Imam saying, they have comes to add on the list of other Christian groups that have found time to visit the Chief Imam.

He expressed gratitude to their call on the nation, to declare a month of peace every year in honour of Chief Imam for the continue preaching peace in Ghana.

To share a fellow human blood according to him, is based on hatred, selfishness and extreme demonic influences and never from God. “Yes, so anyone who tries to do that can be influenced by fellow human being at any time, either is a praise of God or the praise of the devil”.
He challenged footsoldiers not to allow themselves to be used to politicians before, during and after the general elections and urged them to exhibit the National Chief Imam’s qualities of peace to move the nation forward.

The Christian group as part of their visit, presented some items including rice, drinks, water, yams etc. to the Chief Imam.
