The Abola Mantse, Nii Kofi Tuadan III, and the Atofotse of Ga Mantse have revealed that Politicians are contributing factors to issues of Chieftancy challenges in the Greater Accra Region.
He pointed out that though, Politicians are helping in some ways in the Region but said, they are not helping when it comes to issues of Chieftaincy saying, they just accept anybody at all who comes to them as Mantse without doing any research to find out if what the person is claiming for is indeed true.
“You see, we are talking about the Chiefs in GA state. Sometimes, they would go and acquire a report from the traditional council and the Traditional Council also gave them wrong pieces of information because they were thinking of themselves. They are not thinking of the public. They are not telling the Minister or the Mayor or whoever about the truth as to who is the rightful Mantse and who is not”.
Nii Kofi Tuadan III however, pleaded with all government officials that, they should always do their investigations on anyone who comes to them as Mantse from the Ga State, and not to just look at the gazette they are holding adding that, a lot of the gazettes are not genuine.
“I can boldly say that, about 75 to 95 present of documents that they are holding are not proper because, if they can do that to me, then they can equally do it another person. So please, we are pleading to the authorities, Nana, all the Ministers, Mayor, we are just pleading. You people should help us. You are the only people who can help the Ga state”.
He pointed out that, there is a problem in Abola clan saying, there are two Chiefs and among them, one is genuine and the other being fake.
Nii Kofi Tuadan III further lamented that, when the rightful people are on the throne, everything goes on well without encountered any issue because the person is the rightful one.
He hinted that, the Chieftancy in Abola comprises of the Nunoo family adding that, there are 3 brothers and 4 sisters that made the Abola a house stating that, two brothers out of the 3 have children whilst the remaining one also with children but do not have any female.
“We are the first people who they installed as a King in Abola. That is, Nii Kofi Tuadan I. When he passed away, it moved to the second house (Nii Ahene Nunoo). When he also passed away, it then moved to the second house again (Nii Kofi Otu Adanu We II) then he also passed away.
Nii narrated further that, when Nii Kofi Otu Adanu We II also passed away, his Uncle who took care of Abola for 27 years enstooled Nii Ahene Nunoo who used to be a former IGP as Abola Mantse but he also passed away.
“When he passed away, where was it going? It is going to the second house. Then Nii Okoe Adune, one of his children came out claiming to be the Abola Mantse. That is Nii Akrashie Ahene Nunoo. He came out as Abola Mantse, then we started fighting him that he couldn’t be Abola Mantse because it was not his turn to be on the stool since it was our turn. So the family decided to install me as Abola Mantse and I agreed and they did that”.
He emphasized that the one calling himself Abola Mantse (Nii Aye Nunoo Akrashe) is not Abola Mantse.
“I am telling the public that, anybody who transact business with that guy is going to waste his money, waste everything because he is not Abola Mantse and can never be Abola Mantse. So I plead with the public, the people of Ghana to understand this short speech. Akrashe or Nii Ayeh Nunoo is not Abola Mantse”.
On the issue concerning Gyasi, Nii voiced out that he enstooled Henry Aye Addo as Abola Gyasi but because he disrespected the family, he has been removed from the position and a be replaced with a new Abola Gyasi.
“Henry is properly destooled. He is not Abola Gyasi. If you see him anywhere, calling himself as Abola Gyasi, he should be arrested, he is not. He is giving problems to the public. In Abola, we have about 19 Gates. Our great great ancestors who came before our fathers, have sisters.
They are seven in number, 3 men and, 4 women. The women have children and the men also have children but, you can’t differentiate them because, they are all coming from the same family and they enjoy the same fruit.
So, maybe some of the sisters have children from Asene, Otublom, from different places but they all leave in Abola. Nothing changed them from leaving in Abola because that is where they are coming from. So, Henry Addo is coming from one of the Gate from the women side. Men from Abola is the Nunoos. The Nunoos are the men not women.
I don’t think when you have children, you will give power to some of your sisters children to control. No, you will not do that. You will rather leave it in the home where men will be able to control the family. So, Henry Addo is not coming from the Nunoo family. He is coming from a different family but a different Gate in Abola.
Now we have installed Abola Gyasitse, that is Nii Okai Awan III. He is my Gyasitse as I am speaking. So, me in person and the family, we don’t know Henry Addo as Gyasitse”.
