MONDAY
THEME: TO WIN, SEEK HIM!
SCRIPTURE: 2 Chronicles 15:2
“And he went out to meet Asa and said to him: “Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.”
REFLECTIONS
To walk with God and be victorious is not a demanding task for those who love the Lord. It is natural that if you depend on God and allow Him to be in charge of your life, you will not be messed up. As you grow in Him by trusting and allowing Him to lead, your way will become clearer and brighter. Despite the intermittent potholes, bumps, and challenges of the road, you will surely reach your destination in Him.
King Asa is honored with these words in 2 Chronicles 14:2, “Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God,” Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Asa determined to do what would please God, nothing more, nothing less. God gave him evidence that if he continued to depend on Him, he would be made invincible regardless of the size of an army that may attempt to attack him. This was demonstrated when the Ethiopian army of a million men attacked Judah; he sought help from God. Verse 11 reads, “And Asa cried out to the Lord his God, and said, “Lord, it is nothing for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power; help us, O Lord our God, for we rest on You, and in Your name, we go against this multitude. O Lord, You are our God; do not let man prevail against You!”
When we acknowledge our helplessness, weakness, and vulnerability and tap into the power and strength of God, He does not hesitate but acts immediately on our behalf. When circumstances humiliate you, call on God for His help – He will save and restore you. God constantly creates avenues for His people to depend on divine power and support for our salvation and security. He gave Azariah a message for King Asa: 2 Chronicles 15:2 – “And he went out to meet Asa, and said to him: “Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.” Our role is to seek God and trust His power to help us. Note that the Lord is already with us – He took the initiative to save us, so we should remain with Him. If we seek, we will find Him for safety, but if we fail and ignore Him, we will suffer for it – it is simply a choice – choose or forsake Him. Whatever our choice, He remains God.
Those who remain in Him and are privileged to serve Him, do it diligently, for He will not forget your work. The prophet told King Asa in verse 7, “But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!” Any hard work, commitment, sacrifices, and dedication you make for God, He will undoubtedly reward you manifold. We attempt little, so we receive little. The key points are i) believe in God; ii) walk with God and remain in Him; iii) cry to Him and do not doubt anything; iv) do not allow anything to stand between you and God; v) do not underestimate God’s power; vi) attempt to carry out some service for Him; vii) in due time, God will reward you massively.
