Managing Editor for Environmental Guide Writes: Does GWCL Care About Water Leakages?

Date:

It is becoming clear that, management of Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) seems not to be interested in managing water leakages (burst pipes) in the country. The only thing they are interested in is lobbying the PURC for tariff increment at the expense of the poor ordinary Ghanaian who struggles to make ends meet.

I sometimes wonder why Ghana Water Company Limited sometimes looks unconcerned when it comes to burst pipelines that enable million gallons of water go waste. “Is it because the company is under staffed or the normal Ghanaian saying “We don’t carry Government work on our head”.

The most pathetic aspect is that, millions of gallons from Ghana Water Company Limited waste away every second, minute, hour and day, as people struggle to get water running through their pipes.

The fact of the matter is that, Management of Ghana Water Company Limited cannot tell the good people of Ghana that, they are not aware of any water leakage at the middle of a road in front of George Padmore Library near Ridge Church in Accra.

This water leakage has been there for a very long time yet, Ghana Water Company Limited seems not to be interested in finding a lasting solution to it.

However, all eyes are watching to see what would happen.
